1. Music theory: With the lower levels as Kinder and first grade we will be practicing rhythm on drums, imitation and some basic music figures. With second, third, fourth and fifth graders they will learn how to read and write songs including whole notes, half notes, quarter notes, eighth notes and sixteenth notes.
2. Instrumental part: (Not mandatory but highly suggested) A YAMAHA RECORDER OR A GOOD QUALITY RECORDER. A notebook to learn music. (Cuaderno pentagramado). I will include other instruments as xylophones and little percussion (maracas, tambourines, claves).
3. Singing part: The students will learn many songs related to the mass in English and Spanish, and many other different genres.
4. Testing. I DO TEST THE STUDENTS INDIVIDUALLY. This means that students MUST STUDY THEIR INSTRUMENT AND THE SONGS. REMEMBER: Good performances require PRACTICE AND DISCIPLINE. Music is NOT ABOUT A GRADE. IT IS ABOUT THE QUALITY, THE BEAUTY AND THE EXPRESSION OF THE SOUND.
This is a general program that will be developed throughout the whole year according to each level.
